What is Prakti Air?

Prakti Air- It is our tech in their stove!

The Prakti Air is a device that fits into many different kinds of stove bodies. It functions by blowing air into a fire, resulting in a dramatic decrease in emissions and an increase in fuel efficiency. This patented technology solves many challenges in the cookstove industry, such as cost, adoption of technology, and firepower.

We can dramatically lower cost because we are, in effect, only supplying “half” of a high-tech stove – the inside. As the main body will be the traditional stove families already have, they won’t need to buy an entire new stove to enjoy the benefits of clean cooking biomass.

Evolution of Prakti Air

We believe we can overcome the nearly universal reluctance to replace traditional cookstoves with unfamiliar ones because the stove continues to look and feel like their familiar stove. Therefore, the fuel, pots, and pans can stay the same as traditional methods, significantly facilitating the transition to clean cooking technology.

The only significant changes to the cooking process with the Prakti Air are improvements that users appreciate. These benefits include less smoke, more flame power, less frequent fire tending, and less fuel required. The Aprovecho Research Center has evaluated our patented technology for emissions and fuel use.

Using the Prakti Air results in 95% less PM and CO. This means women and children in the kitchen inhale significantly less air pollution. Another user favorite improvement is less smoke means less soot collects on pots and results in easier cleaning. The Prakti Air is also estimated to reduce black carbon by 90%, one of the top contributors to climate change.

The Prakti Air saves 66% of the fuel usually needed in traditional stoves. Families in poverty can spend less time collecting and spend less money purchasing wood. Decreases in burning wood demand can slow the rate of deforestation as well.
